  1. I work in an enviornment where raising ones voice to drown out your neighbor or to make a point is all to common. It is certainly something I struggle with from time to time, and have to make a consious effort to keep my volume and tone in check. It's difficult to keep emotion out of an opinion you feel strongly about, but well worth it. It seems obvious, but I've found that people are much more willing to accept an opinion that has it's content as it's emphisis rather than it's emotion.

  2. I consistently remind my peers at work to "attack the problem, not the person". It's something I knew, but Ilyssa's class helped me to really focus in on it.

  3. Hi folks, thanks for the feedback. Can I use the line, "people are much more willing to accept an opinion that has its content as its emphasis rather than emotion (as its emphasis)"?

I think that will really drive the point home!

Keep up the conversation, that's how we all will keep learning!
